• Do not turn electrical switches on or off.
• Put out any naked flames and extinguish pilot lights.
• Locate your gas meter — it will have a lever with instructions showing which direction to turn to shut off the supply.
• Open doors and windows to ventilate the property.
• Call the Gas Emergency Service on 0800 111 999 immediately.

2. My boiler is showing zero pressure and my heating and hot water don’t work. What should I do?

Your boiler may need a top-up of water pressure.

• Check your boiler manual for instructions (or search online using your boiler make and model).
• Generally, boiler pressure should sit between 1.2 bar and 1.4 bar.
• Use the filling loop to slowly add pressure, then restart the boiler.

3. My radiators are only warm at the bottom. How do I fix this?

This usually means there’s trapped air or sludge in the system.

• First, ensure your heating system is filled between 1.2–1.4 bar pressure.
• On a cold system, bleed the radiators starting downstairs (closest to the boiler) and work your way upstairs.
• Keep an eye on the boiler pressure and top it up as needed while you bleed the system.
